The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides première dominated the Festival de Cannes Saturday, with fans particularly excited about the arrival of star Johnny Depp.
The movie is not in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, but for marketing purposes, it has used the event to get maximum global coverage.
Alongside Depp were actors Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush, Sam Cain, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and director Rob Marshall.
A press conference took place prior to the screening. Cruz wore a blue Stella McCartney to the earlier event. Director Rob Marshall revealed that Cruzs sister, Monica, acted as a double for her pregnant sister for some scenes.
Spotted on the red carpet on Saturday for various Cannes events were Paz Vega, Robert de Niro and Grace Hightower, and Jane Fonda.
